What you'll learn

Button cell and coin batteries are small, but their ingestion risk has made them a priority for regulators worldwide. Canada’s requirements for button cell batteries in consumer products are tightening, and they do not map neatly onto the ASTM F963 or other standards approach that many brands already follow. The CCPSA received a major extension on September 18, 2026 with mandatory standards depending on the kind of product that are mandatory from then on. Manufacturers and importers selling into Canada need to understand where the two frameworks overlap, where they diverge, and what changes they must make to stay compliant. In this webinar, QIMA’s regulatory expert Benedict Morilla-Molina will explain the background of Canada’s button cell regulation, compare it with ASTM F963, ANSI/UL 4200A-2023, walk through the latest requirement updates, and outline a practical path to compliance. You will also learn how QIMA’s testing and regulatory services can support your products.
