On June 8, 2023, SASO issued a circular that outlined the new process for EER Applications. Beginning July 1st, 2023 new energy efficiency applications must be submitted through the accounts of the manufacturer or importer only. Applications and/or renewal requests from third parties will no longer be accepted. Beginning January 1st, 2024 all EER accounts that are not manufacturers or importers accounts will be cancelled.
On July 25, 2023, SASO issued a circular that identified HS Codes that will have additional approval requirements in order to receive a Shipment Certificate. Starting July 30, 2023, any incoming consignments will require that the Declaration Form be approved by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources before the Shipment Certificate can be issued.
