On November 4, 2022, SASO published a list of new, adopted, updated, and withdrawn international standards in the official gazette for Paints (Dyes) and Varnishes.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Provides Additional Guidance on Non-Regulated Product Requirements

On November 9, 2022, SASO provided additional guidance for Non-Regulated Products. Starting December 15, 2022 importers of Non-Regulated Products will be required to upload a minimum of one (1) photo of the product into the SABER system.

On November 11, 2022, SASO published a list of new, adopted, updated, and withdrawn international standards in the official gazette for Electric Batteries.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Updates the Validity Period for IECEE Recognition Certificates

On November 13, 2022, SASO's IEC Certification Department updated the validity period of the IECEE Recognition Certificate to three (3) years and provided an updated Declaration of Conformity form. Please contact your QIMA rep for more details on this service.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Issues Draft Technical Regulations

On November 2, 2022, SASO held a workshop to present two (2) draft Technical Regulations:

  • Technical Regulation for Packaging
  • Technical Regulation of Machinery Safety Part 4 - Sawing and Cutting Machines

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce Issues Recall for Amazon Basic Executive Chair

On November 3, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for certain models of Amazon Basic Executive Chair due to the possibility of the legs breaking and causing serious injury to user. Consumers are encouraged to stop using the product and contact Amazon Saudi Arabia for a full refund.
