On March 30, 2022, SASO published a list of adopted international standards in the official gazette.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) releases Circular for Ecological Badge in Textile Products

On March 16, 2022, SASO released a Circular which outlined the procedure for Notified Bodies to accept Ecological Badges in lieu of the conformity assessment process for Textile products.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) releases Notification for SEER label requirements for Air Conditioners

On March 13, 2022, SASO released a notification to remind applicants that Air Conditioners with an "Inverter" type of compressor must obtain a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) energy efficiency label for products arriving in KSA after April 1, 2022. Products that are not upgraded to the SEER label will be treated as a "Fixed Speed" type of compressor which results in a lower energy efficiency class.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization released new Technical Regulations for Hydrogen Vehicles and for Tanks - Part 2: LPG Transport Tanks

On March 18, 2022, SASO released a new Technical Regulation for Hydrogen Vehicles and the new Technical Regulation for Tanks - Part 2: LPG Transport Tanks in the official gazette. Only the Arabic version is currently available.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce Issues Recall for Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch

On March 17, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for the Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch due to the possibility of the battery overheating and causing burns. Consumers are instructed to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for a full refund.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce Issues Recall for Progressive Nut Grinder

On March 30, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for Progressive Nut Grinder due to a defect that may lead to the ejection of plastic parts and the occurrence of injury if swallowed. Consumers are instructed to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for free repairs.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce Issues Recall for Two Little Seedlings Rattles

On March 28, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for three (3) Two Little Seedlings Rattles due to suffocation hazard which can cause death. Consumers are instructed to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for free repairs.
