With the growing adoption of sustainability practices, there is increasing demand for internationally recognized Sedex SMETA audits. As one of the few Sedex-certified training providers, we offer the SMETA Basic Internal Auditor Workshop to help you master the essential requirements for preparing SMETA audits.

To help businesses better understand and utilize SMETA audits, enhancing their capabilities and performance in responsible supply chains, Sedex have developed this training program. What is SMETA?

SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is a widely adopted sustainability and responsible supply chain audit methodology/program developed by Sedex. It enables organizations to assess and measure compliance in social and environmental performance across their workplaces, suppliers, and supply chain partners. SMETA’s framework aligns with international standards and local regulations, focusing on critical issues such as wages, working conditions, labor rights, health and safety, environmental protection, waste management, and energy efficiency.

Used by businesses in 180+ countries and 40+ industries, SMETA is regularly updated by Sedex to reflect global sustainability trends and stakeholder needs. The latest version, SMETA 7.0 (updated Q3 2024), emphasizes four core areas: labor standards, health and safety, environmental management, and business ethics, in alignment with international and local legal requirements.
